HISTORY OF BRILLIANT RESTAURANT
The name Brilliant was thought of by our father Bishen Dass Anand who started a 200 seater Restaurant in Kenya (Nagara) in 1957. Our father was the chef of all chefs, the master in cooking Punjabi food with the Kenyan touch. From a Restaurant our then converted the place into The Brilliant Nightclub and opened up another Brilliant Restaurant not far from the nightclub in Nagara in 1961. We used to help our dad in the running of the Nightclub and Restaurant along with our two other brothers, however a sudden tragedy rose upon us, that was the loss of our dear father in 1970. Although we had lost our father, we did not give up and kept both the Nightclub and Restaurant running up until 1973,when unfortunately we had to abandon the whole project due to political pressure. We four brothers then left Kenya and migrated to London where each of us went our own way and started working. One aim was however at the back of all our minds and that was to open a Restaurant somehow in London and to keep the name Brilliant alive. Me (Kewal) and my brother Gulu then partnered to open a Restaurant in the heart of Southall in 1975, of course it had to be Brilliant. It started as a 36 seater, and since then we have extended it six times and here we are today a 250 seater and still growing.

WHAT WE ARE NOW
Despite being a 250 seater Restaurant at present, we are UK’s first Restaurant which has a licence to hold civil marriages, we have a banqueting suite on the first floor able to hold up to 120 people as well as being experienced outside caterers,. We have won many awards, to name a few: The Best in Britain, Best Ethnic, Best Punjabi and the recent one being The Best Regional Cuisine 2004 from the Good Curry Guide. We also have a Royal Seal of Approval and are frequented by many VIP’s and film stars.

The preparation and the organisation of an event takes a lot of time and effort, however if you plan here with us at The Brilliant, we guarantee to make your function a success.

The Brilliant is a first class venue for any event, especially for holding your marriage. Our civil marriage package is one, which cannot be beaten in either price or value. We have various different packages for you to choose from, and work to meet all of your requirements. The Brilliant banqueting suite is also the perfect venue in which to hold your birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, business meetings, chunni ceremonies and many other events, please ask in-house to see the banqueting suite.

Civil Ceremonies
Brilliant is UK’s first Restaurant licensed to hold civil marriages, which means now you can have a number of different functions in one day, under the same roof.
The Restaurant falls under the London Borough of Ealing and therefore the local town hall is Ealing.
EVENT CATERING
Brilliant can also assist you in your outside catering events, provided that the catering is for a minimum of 200 people. From you we request a suitable venue in which there the basic kitchen appliances and catering facilities. Be it a Hotel, Banqueting Hall, Your Residence, an exhibition centre, or a Company, we’ll work with you provided the establishment agrees. Our kitchen team is well trained and assists us in making each successful one. We can also arrange ‘Front of House’ staff for your event, as well as arrange extras such as Flower Displays, Fruit Displays, Ice Displays, D.J., decorations etc. provided we are informed well in advance.

Brilliant’s name has become almost synonymous with the Indian restaurant trade. It stands for a business which is unique both in its high standards of cuisine and excellent customer service, leaving no doubt to any patron as to its quality in selling. The Brilliant represents one hundred and fifty years of catering expertise, and its success is due to skill in creating tastes of the palette which have delighted generations from as far as Hong Kong, Delhi and New York. Its reputation circulates among: British Monarchy, Bollywood, Politicians and Industrialists to mention but a few.
Brilliant is accustomed to serving to serving Royalty as its pedigree was shown in the past, when the founder Bishen Dass Anand (K.K’s and D.K’s father) was continually called upon to prepare banquets for the Maharajas of India. Brilliant is surely no stranger to success, as its history in the Restaurant trade has inscribed with Awards, National Newspaper write ups, radio and TV presentations as well as being given the title of Master Chefs.
